Background:filamentsfoundinmusclecells.InadultstriatedmuscletheyformafibrousnetworkconnectingmyofibrilstoeachotherandtotheplasmamembranefromtheperipheryoftheZlinestructures.DefectsinDesminarethecauseofdesminrelatedcardioskeletalmyopathy（CSM）alsoknownasdesminrelatedmyopathy（DRM）.CSMischaracterizedbyskeletalmuscleweaknessassociatedwithcardiacconductionblocks,arrhythmias,restrictiveheartfailure,andbyintracytoplasmicaccumulationofdesminreactivedepositsincardiacandskeletalmusclecells.Adesminrelatedmyopathycanhaveadistalonset,itisthenknownashereditarydistalmyopathy（HDM）.DefectsinDesminarealsothecauseofdilatedcardiomyopathytype1I（CMD1I）.CMD1Iisanautosomalformofdilatedcardiomyopathycharacterizedbyventriculardilatationandimpairedsystolicfunction.Antidesminantibodiesareusefulinidentificationoftumoursofmyogenicorigin.Specificity:
